Hi, I’m Galya — founder of Galya Makeup Artistry. ✨

My journey as a bridal makeup artist didn’t start with a glamorous studio or a big following. It started with passion, persistence, and a belief that artistry and integrity matter more than anything else.

I was born in Bulgaria and moved to the U.S. for college, where I graduated with a degree in accounting. For a while, I worked a 9–5, but I knew in my heart that makeup was my true calling. On weekends, I began doing makeup for just $20. In 2017, I booked my first bride — two hours away, for $50. I still keep her photo on my phone to remind me how far I’ve come.

Once I had enough savings to cover my bills for a year, I took the leap and left my job. Within that first year, I scaled to six figures. Today, I lead a team of 15 elite artists, and together we glam an average of 200 weddings every year in Charleston, Miami, and destination weddings worldwide.

But through it all, my philosophy has stayed the same: integrity and artistry first. I never stop learning (I still take at least one makeup class a month), and I never let a bride leave my chair until I’m 100% proud of my work.
